A case can be made for keeping state and local government employees employed because of balanced budget requirements.

Of course a case can be made for it, but is it the correct thing to do for the greater good?

If the fed. govt. gives taxpayer money to the states so that the states can keep paying their own govt. employees, do you not see what a shell game this is? How does borrowing from Peter to pay Paul move the whole country forward?

Also my example had to do with teachers. If the country has excess teachers because of declining enrollments, how do you make a case for my tax dollars going to keep them employed?

Make the case, please.
