You need to try Phillipe's here in L.A. While they're credited with inventing the French Dip sandwich, others also make that claim, the last time I was there they still offered coffee by the cup at the price it was originally, 9 cents as I remember it. It's good coffee.

Personally I usually buy Costco's coffees while they're still warm out of the roaster at my local Costco. I grind the beans as I use the coffee and suspect my cost per cup rivals that 9 cents. Not the variety of coffees of a Starbucks, etc but I like the way they roast the beans better, and I can buy a few pounds for what a few cups would cost at most coffee places.
