"In the state of Washington, we have increased state spending 33 percent in the last three years and hired 6,000 new state employees, often using federal mandates as an excuse to grow state government," he said. "We need to return government back down to the people, to keep government as close to the local people as possible."
General Comment--mj
Good for those 20 States. This reminds me of Obama's interview with the press today in D.C.
Paraphrasing Obama----
Obama kept saying 'we have to put 4 million people back to work-----that is what matters---that is the point of this stimulus bill.
Note that the stimulus bill has a value of $845,000,000,000 (Billions) to put 4,000,000. people back to work?
That averages out to $211,250,000 per person to put each person back to work--------$211.250 Million per person.
Questions not answered:
How many of these 4 million people were laid off because they are reaching retirement age?
How many of them are capable of learning a new skill? Will he be able to put a Wall Street trader back to work doing hard labor that construction requires-----think not.
Will more government agencies be created; thereby, expanding the bureaucracy to create jobs. Will he mandate more requirements for states to be overseen by the new beaureaucrats---such as Washington state is now dealing with?
Obama claimed there was no pork in the legislation------really now?
He claimed that some adjustments to the bills have already been made----without stating what adjustments. People want to know what was eliminated and what was kept---people want transparency.
Throughout the press conference, he played the poor me Obama boy--decrying the problems the nation faces and his having to solve them. As a citizen I say---"Well, Mr. Obama, that's life-----get used to it----if you aren't up to the task of being the POTUS, you shouldn't have run for office. There are always problems to be solved."
