Mean to me is asking people who are by necessity tightening their belts to pay for even MORE food stamps. We weren't talking about food stamps. We were talking about pushing welfare moms into the work force. Fussing about the cost of food stamps at this point sounds mean, as well. I'm not crazy about welfare programs, either, but IMO now is not the time to beat on them. Bad taste, seems to me.
