Nah ... we made good progress in the '90s on both reducing the size of the Federal government (as a percent of GDP) and reducing the deficit.

Don't you mean made progress on reducing the GROWTH rate of both? I have never seen anything in writing that shows an actual reduction of either under Clinton.
