I owned a Taurus wagon for a few years, and it was a pretty decent car. It broke down once because I did not get a recall for faulty gas tank, but otherwise, I got 29 MPG on the highway with the plent-o-pep 3.0 liter engine (which did not suffer from the warped cylinder head problem that the 3.8 liter did).

The car handled very well. Still... I'll take some convincing from Consumer Reports readers to try a Ford again, after my dubious experience with the Windstar. I would love for Ford to succeed though, and in style. They were on the right track up until about the mid 90's when they went on an acquisition frenzy.
