Contribute to a $3.5 trillion expansion of federal debt in 2009 and 2010--a staggering $30,000 in new debt per household, dumped into the laps of our children and grandchildren[1];

This is nothing less than child abuse. Why are we sacrificing the future prosperity of our children for the easy short term solution of government spending?

The irresponsibility of these spendaholics is astounding!

Imagine how the markets would have reacted if the Democrats got together and said "We know times are tough, but we have faith in American creativity to adapt to the challenging economy. We are not going to do what liberal politicians have done in the past and raise spending to pass on the difficult decisions to our children and grand-children.

Instead, we're going to cut hundreds of billions of dollars of government waste, streamline government agencies and lower the tax rate to help provide a better environment for our companies to flourish in."
