One partnership I was involved in for three years had the requirement of partners paid in capital up front, so they would have some skin in the game. Don't know how they work now, but if you had a bad year...you were eating into the seed corn. Two good years, and then we got hammered the third year. Then I went out on my own again...would rather fail on my own.

Working for a school and a handful of small clients, life is simple - get paid once a month from the school, and whenever I bill the other clients. I'm a bargain...it's just me and the dog...no overhead except for rawhide chews.
