So why are you so into the idea of ocean fertilization, but don't want to do anything about other symptoms of our environment being modified by human activity like runaway CO2 content in our atmosphere?

Listen up.. Presuming the LOGICAL argument that soil conservation efforts BY MANKIND for agricultural purposes has prevented the normal amount of wind born nutrients from nourishing phytoplankton, doesn't it make we have an obligation to restore that balance??

We have seen a 30% decline in phytoplankton over the past 30 years in the N. Pacific, which dovetail with the implementation of soil conservation by the Chinese (although they still have significant dust storms from time to time).

So Mindmeld, for the life of me, I don't see why people like you can focus so intently upon man's CO2 production when THE REAL ISSUE is probably what has man done to interfere with the planet's natural CO2 sequestration process (phytoplankton).

It's pretty simple. If there's been an average of 20-30% reduction of the ocean's ability to consume and sequester CO2, is it not logical that CO2 levels would increase?

And is it not logical that, given the proper amount of nutrients to foster phytoplanktonic growth (like Diatoms), CO2 levels would remain level..

Don't think too hard about this.. I've made it pretty simple so even you should be able to understand it.
