Lots of reasons why Jimmy Carter failed as a president. Most of it, I believe, was because his administration actively drained the spirit of the American people. He did come across as sort of a nag.

How old were you when Carter was president? 8,9,10 maybe. And at that age you knew the president was a nag. Damn! You must have been a precocious bundle of joy! ;-)
