To be fair, it isn't clear at this point.

We do know that fascism derives from modern day progressivism. And there is a lot of stuff happening here that reeks of an attempt to take control away from the American People and place it hands of The Messiah.

Whether they'll be successful is as yet undetermined. While some would argue that fascism's violent/militaristic underpinnings are absent in the current scenario, a more rational argument is that those underpinnings are nonessential to fascism and only a means to an end. If one takes that position (as I do), we are definitely headed in the direction of a fascist dictatorship. If you can create a fascist state without violence, so much the better.

Besides, the violence and militarism will come later, when it is necessary to tamp down the People's uprisings.

Couldn't happen here? It damned well can. A year ago I thought maybe not. But having seen the Rise of Obama, I definitely think we've headed that direction.
