I'm currently living in DuPage, though my roots are on the southwest side of Chicago. I'm hoping that the Republican Party in Illinois can reinvigorate itself next year. The coming tax hike will help. It would also be nice if Blagojevich can either start singing or go to trial in the early fall of 2010. While Andy McKenna talks a good game, it is now time for him to recruit some top notch candidates.

I'm expecting Schakowsky to run against Burris in the primary next year. I think that Kirk can beat either one of them in a statewide race. I also think that Vallas - who can be a bit of a nut case - has a fighting chance against Stroger, who may be the dumbest politician in the state. I can't see a Republican winning the governor's race.
