Why subsidize state government irresponsibility? * $51B on energy and water, including smart grid, renewable energy, and energy innovation Again we already spend an awful lot on all those things. $51 billion is a massive amount. * $21B on health IT Again a massive amount - what specifically is $21 B gonna go for? * $6B unspecified spending on broadband penetration Thought there was a broadband glut. Why spend anything on this? * $16B on wireless broadband, Why should the federal govt spend anything on this? NSF science R&D, We already spend money on this. How much more and why? and state and local law enforcement Thats the responsiblity of state and local government. Why is the federal govt doing it? BTW its almost certain one of your items included the $1.6 billion for "science" with no other description. Which one and what is the $1.6 billion going for?
