So "holding back" is too limiting IMHO, and denotes a focused objection to the other. Science was founded to find the(objective) truth to things... where the friction has arose is when science has collided with the church in demonstatable fashion. I don't think either is 'against' or 'holding back' the other... except in the fring cases... ie. those claiming the earth was made in 7 days... or on the other fringe, Dawkins and the like. Decidedly the fringe religionists are MUCH more dangerous than Dawkin's and his misguided ilk IMHO. DAK
