That's a good point. If you look at the graph, taxes were raised dramatically in 1930 and the results weren't good (understatement). The situation we face today is quite similar to then, and our politicians are totally freaked at what to do. So far they are scared to death to raise taxes, so they choose the spend, spend, spend door. Kind of in a box to say the least. We'll see what cracks first to get them to choose the raise taxes door.
