What Compaq did is trying to tear apart Win95, that's not allowed by license agreement.

They have a mass mailing or a global conference call on this, YuanQing? Let it never be said that Microsoft employees don't know how to toe the company line. Compaq removed the IE icon. Now, I know from personal experience that Windows95 is a plenty fragile operating system, but it's survived me taking out an icon or two. Of course, it is praiseworthy that Microsoft is devoting so much effort to maintaining the integrity and uniformity of Windows 95, in this particular aspect. As I've said before, the big integrity problem with Windows always seemed to be viruses, but that's my outsider view, I haven't been blessed with that particular disease yet, another reason to stay away from IE and its ActiveX attachments.

Oh, and it is also an ad hominem attack to bring up other people's investments in this context. Just thought you might like to know.

Cheers, Dan.
