in 1982 that would've been true of the zimbabwe dollar, too. it was worth more than a british pound. it works until some kind of shock stops it from working.

so, how long do you think that's gonna last? we are betting not long given the insolvent banks and the politicians desire not deflate their populace and incur their wrath.

the *only* solution is to make the debt cheap - and inflation is the only way to do that.

there is no other realistic end game here, imho.

do you see 60% tax rates? what will that do to the economy?
