Nonsense...Many materials and chemicals don't need an outside force to react.... Remember your grade school volcano? Pour some vinegar over baking soda.... Thousands of other reactions occur spontaneously...through exchange of electrons...
Other reactions require an activation energy...the simplest one I can think of is a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen....nothing will happen until the reaction is activated by a spark, a match or other flame and then BOOM! No god is required. Lightening is a great source of activation energy..
