Didn't happen to me, being the baby of the our family had many advantages which I thoroughly enjoyed. My sister was born before the Depression of '29 and I came after it, so I didn't know any of the hardships she was exposed to. Do remember stories of how awful things were at that time.

And here again a depression is upon us so naturally feel concerned about world events such as they are now and surely hope it doesn't affect us as it did them. Read where President Obama signed the stimulus bill today and now it's wait and see if it does what he presumes it will do. I personally don't agree with it and think so much of it will be wasted money. Saw that GM is asking for 15 billion more in funds. And what happens when that has been gone through without success? That surely is a distressful thought to think of the waste involved there. Dealerships here are filing for bankruptcy and throwing in the towel and have closed down with thousands of cars on their lots and they can't pay what they owe on each unit to the manufacturers. Other dealerships are offering a can't refuse price with 0% to sell their cars and wonder how much longer they can last without major backers or having wealth in their families to tide them through it.
