Math, the markets are treacherous. i understood that from the beginning. unfortunately, most of america did not and they will pay dearly.

we are now learning that the banks are insolvent to the tune of several trillion dollars at the same time that americans are up to their gills in debt and losing their jobs en masse.

good luck with any long positions. i have a few and they aren't nice. my CEF, NGD and TBT positions have been exceptionally nice to me, though. so has SRS, i've had it for less than week and it is up 30-35% or so. i have to be careful, because it could lose that in a few hours.

i don't think so, though. i see nothing but dark getting darker going forward.

a coworker who bet big on the banks and rebuffed for me for saying "be careful, don't hold on too long" ("naw, the market will rebound - i'm not worried") looks to be in a world of hurt now that they are down another 80% or so in the last few months.
