This is nothing against Americans in general but I keep finding myself wondering how, given the self centered way Americans think, we are ever going to compete against the Chinese. Day after day I read about how people think they are entitled to high paying jobs, about how wages are protected by whatever means, and how high level managements are still acting incompetently (when they act at all). It is incredible how much incompetence, greed, and even arrogance there is in this country, and it goes right to the top in both the government and corporate worlds. The mantra seems to be "lower everyone's wages but mine".

The only good thing I see coming out of the auto industry upheaval is change. Until recently it was obvious that when the Chinese started importing cars into the US it was all over for the American automakers. MAYBE they will be able to deal with the competition when this is all over.

Attitudes have to change in this country or countries like China are going to kick our a$$.
