If their skills and work habits are so bad they can't demand even minimum wage in the labor market, then they face either unemployment, or under the table sub-minimum work. If they chose the later, than obviously they think its the better choice, so again they are benefiting from it, and its not nasty.

You live in a fantasy world where there are an unlimited number of jobs in every skill category. In the real world people are taking what they can get. And at the bottom illegal immigration has increased the supply well beyond the demand, which has driven down wages; it's a buyers market for employees and employers are taking advantage of that. Nasty, yes.

Although I'm sure that in your God-like free market 'nasty' can't exist.
