I wish Obama would really speed up our exit from the quagmire over in Iraq -- we've spent way too much time, money and attention on that country...and think of the thousands of innocent lives that have been lost too...Bush LIED and so many have died over in Iraq (and this was a totally elective war too).

Afghanistan is one of the most difficult places in the world to stabilize and I think we should only use the Special Forces and the CIA (and we may even have to make some financial deals with some of the moderate factions of the Taliban)...we can't be the global policeman and put tens of thousands of our troops in harms way all over the world -- it's very costly and we have to rebuild our own country right now...Our economy is a total wreck and our debt levels are skyrocketing...the United States of America can NOT afford to spend as much on defense as we did during the GW Bush years...Life's a series of compromises -- are we going to spend money saving U.S. jobs, creating new Green collar jobs or are we going to play war games in Asia...?? There's no easy exit strategy from Afghanistan...Just ask the Soviet Union. And maybe it's time for Obama to send some strong signals to the Military Industrial Complex that they will need to start to downsize just like General Motors -- our country just can't afford their current structures and burn rates.
