I agree, there is no such thing as 'spontaneous generation' which is also known as 'abiogenesis', at least not entirely on its own merits. Science has rejected the plausibility of that occurrence in every scenario given any serious inquiry. Abiogenesis is the explanation used by extremists who aren't able to back it up scientifically but insist upon claiming the evolution of life had a beginning that was not brought about by a Creator.

'Creation' or if you prefer 'Special Creation' is the explanation embraced by most believers, although some accept abiogenesis with the supernatural force of a creator. This leaves us with more than one possibility. The usual suspect is An Omniscient Creator, but other explanations have some plausibility an alien who has access to a force beyond what we call the natural laws, or a super creative force that we haven't discovered yet, but which is natural.

Another possibility is that natural life is eternal and we have not yet grasped the concept of eternal as a natural law. Like the fire metaphor I offered you a while back ... Life being the source of it's own life. Life comes from life, is ever changing in form yet ever remaining the same, and all consuming ... ashes-to-ashes, dust-to-dust, etc.

Personally, I'm betting on the usual suspect because of the obvious other connections to purposefulness, meaningfulness, human principle and consciousness, etc.
