Over the past 50 years of American history, every time progress has been made on national debt problems it was a result of some combination of those exact two factors: Higher Growth plus some Fiscal Restraint.


Then we can already write Obama's epitaph: Obama will have been a zero. His first act was to go the wrong direction on both of those. Why should we expect any different behavior in the future?
