G seems to be a problem on a lot of guitars - even ones that people pay a lot more for... The intonation for some G strings seems to require a a wound G. Guild offered a choice of two saddles on some electric jazz boxes; one for wound and pne for unwound Gs. The jazz players often like the wound Gs. Gibson prices are unreal. A friend brought over an Epi LP she bought for $499 that had all the classic LP sounds you could ask for.
