That would only mean something if the abortion rates before the roadblocks were put up were significantly higher than the states with lower teen birth rates.

Besides, the fact that the roadblocks were even put up in the first place reflects the will of the electorate. No way those roadblocks could have ever been put up in any state that favors abortion over life.

I think you're ignoring culture and how teenage girls in those states feel less pressure to "live their own lives." Usually girls who want to head off to college and get careers and all that will tend to "get it done." Meanwhile, the girls that live the more "simple" lives will usually cater to their motherly instincts and carry their babies to term.

To me, that could be considered "respecting life more."
