I've got another dumb question.

It's been my observation that the Dems seem to rationalize and sweep under the rug bad acts by their fellow Dems, as if by ignoring criminal or unethical behavior they can make it appear they are not criminal or unethical themselves.

So, now I'm confused. Why are they tearing into everything so ferociously that has to do with ex-Governor Blago? Not just Blago himself, but everything associated with him, including his choice for US Senator (whom, BTW, was confirmed by both the IL Senate and the US Senate).

This whole process leaves me scratching my head. Blago was deposed from office by his fellow Dems, without any real evidence of bad acts, just unproved allegations, and even without the ability to defend himself. I don't much mind seeing the jerk go, but I am puzzled by the atypical attacks on a member of the Dem hierarchy, and especially by the calls for Burris's resignation.
