"So it seems the concept ‘Spirit’ is a sticking point for you.
Hardly but I can't think of another word that would make sense to the faithful...
You can imagine a beginning where a source, perhaps an energy source, would emanate to light and matter throughout the universe. E=MCsquared. And from that the various forms of matter, energy, and life. The action of the Universe.
No problem with that so far....
You like the fire analogy so maybe you can consider the fire of a log which contains everything needed (log, fire, oxygen) to emanate flame, light, warmth, destruction, etc. It’s form being varied, changing, but referent completely to the source of each form … the log’s fire.
That's pretty obvious , isnt' it???
From a beginning which we both agree had some source, we now have all forms of matter and energy, the discovered as well as the waiting to be discovered. Are you telling me you cannot accept other forms that would emanate at the same time, from a source, both energetic and thoughtful ... the forms of understanding, will, wisdom, compassion, mercy, justice, harmony, purpose, splendor, good intention, etc. All forms of thought associated with energy, matter, and action.
I will accept anything for which there is convincing scientific evidence....
Can we separate the fire from the log? Conceptually we can view them differently but in reality they are one and we must transcend one to get to an understanding of the other where they exist together and even further to get to the whole of the issue. However nothing comes from the log’s fire that could not have been a property of the source.
ZZZZZZZZ</I?
If thought and it's various forms did not come with light at the beginning, from whence did it come? You can separate energy, thought, and action from those forms which emanate around you; just as you can separate the log, fire, and oxygen from the forms of their activity. You can also transcend that separation, if you so will it. You can also ignore it. You have free will. |
