The con in con-artist comes from the word confidence, as in one who gains your confidence. By this very definition, the con- artist is a likeable, believeable, friendly gent or lady.. The con-artist engenders your trust and helps you believe what you most want to believe. A con-artist encourages you to distrust others who hold divergent views. A con-artist makes promises of extraordinary gains, miracle cures or supernatural intervention. A con-artist makes his living by telling lies with a smile, looking you straight in the eye. A con-artist will never confess to his marks. Con-artists ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY do EXIST. Psychics, faith healers, prophets, spirits, ghosts, gods, goddesses, DO NOT EXIST no matter how much one might want them to. Those who claim to be one of these.....make your own decisions.
