Eligibility petition hits quarter-million mark
Nearly 3,000 a day question Obama's constitutional suitability

WASHINGTON – A petition created in late November calling on all controlling legal authorities to ensure that Barack Obama is constitutionally eligible to serve as president continues to attract widespread support more than a month after the inauguration.

The petition has now been signed electronically by more than 250,000 different people – averaging nearly 3,000 new signups a day.

WND has reported on multiple legal challenges to Obama's status as a "natural born citizen." The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."
