>>> Ever consider Reno and Carson City? They have SD that pays 1.5 on BJ and even allows mid-shoe (or mid-deck) entry.
You know, we never get there -- I think the concern is that when we travel to Vegas we have to have entertainment for my wife, too. We've talked about staying in Reno, but Vegas always wins out. I didn't know there was still 3/2 there, though. Around here they've pretty much all gone to 6/5.
For the most part, players don't have a clue that it is even different, let alone that it decreases their return by a whopping 1.4% (of course, most don't even know basic strategy anyway, so it hardly matters). Last trip to Vegas I sat down at a 6/5 SD game by accident. After a couple minutes I realized that nowhere did it say 6/5, even on the table felt, so I asked, "Is this 6:5?". The dealer said it was so I got up to leave. There were a couple players at the table who looked at me like I was nuts.
A lot of people think, "Gosh, 1.4%? That's nothing". But they don't realize what it does to the game.
In fact, shouldn't the best counters be the ones giving the signals to the high roller?
It is a good point. The Big Player needs to know nothing but strategy variations for the most part. |
