Ian, Joe Kernan is saying that 9 billion of the 35 billion of equipment makers buying comes from SE Asia. What does this mean. I thought that if things get tough the chip makers would naturally accelarate their move to new technology.

Most fabs are funded by some big players with very deep pockets or by a joint venture of very big players with very deep pockets. Personally, I don't share the interpretation reported by CNBC.

If you believe that chip demand is going to dry up, then yes there will be trouble. I don't see SE Asia or any other scenario getting rid of chip demand.

Yes, the chip makers are getting squeezed. They need to reduce costs. The traditional ways to do that are larger wafers or more die per wafer. Both of those options are available. Both mean more sales for CYMI and several other Semi Equipment makers. So yes CYMI's business will continue to improve, IMO. However, its price may not. Often there's a dichotomy between stock prices and underlying fundamentals which can exist for a long time.

Patience.,,,

Ian.
