Now, I'm not trying to scare anyone off (shoot, I'm long on SEEK and MSFT myself), but Jesse Berst usually has a pretty good pulse on what's happening up in Redmond and in the rest of the software industry. Now, as far as MS coming out with something and slaughtering YHOO, XCIT, SEEK, etc., I'll remain skeptical until I see it. I've watched MS develop other products, have them fail, then they buy the competition: Quicken vs. MSMoney (whoops, this one backfired), FoxPro vs. Access, SourceSafe vs. MSDelta, FrontPage vs. BlackBeard. If I thought about it some more, I'm sure I could come up with others. The point is, don't panic, but do be cautious.
