Ted, let me put it this way.

I do believe that there are a lot of excesses that can be worked off, both in the American economy and the American cultural mindset.

But that's also the reason why we should NOT bail out irresponsibility. That just breeds more excess.

Let me see if I have this straight. You don't think Americans are lazy and incompetent. However, you've decided Americans do over consume as I suggested....."breed excesses" as you put it. So your solution is to not help the people who are in trouble with their mortgage payments but rather let them end up on the street as a form of punishment so that they will learn their lesson? Is that correct?
