Haim, the US helped start Iran's nuclear program under the Shah of Iran in 1974. It was good then, but it's bad now?

The assistance was stopped after the revolution in 1979, but jump started again in the 1990's with Russian assistance.

This isn't much different than the chemical weapons assistance given to Iraq in the early 80's and cut off after April Glaspie said some of the dumbest words ever uttered by a US ambassador.

Basically the US policy is if we like the government and they are strategically important, they can have whatever weapons or technology they want. If we don't like them, they can't have them or are not entitled to them.
