>> Now just show me one bit of data that overall health care in the US is "the best in the world"...

Did you bother to look at the points in that so-called "scorecard"? Questions like, "How many are insured?" -- a totally IRRELEVANT measure in determining the quality of health care.

Or "Are heart care patients given written instructions at discharge?". ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?

Any person in America who needs treatment can get it, with or without insurance, if he goes to the appropriate place. It may not be the best treatment available in the world for that particular person, but it is reasonable treatment given the person is one of no means.

Changes can be made that will improve the health care system. I recommend you read Skin in the Game by John Hammergren, who runs McKesson Pharmaceutical, who talks about the problems and the ways to improve our health care system that WILL work from one of the most knowledgeable persons on the planet about the health care business.

But this nonsense that government run health care is a good thing is just ignorant. Anyone who deals with the health care system on a professional basis knows just how dumb the idea is.
