Israel's incursion into Gaza during the run-up to Obama's presidency was a signal to the new administration that Israel is prepared to act unilaterly against targets which threaten the state. Why has crude oil suddenly began rising in the midst of a world economic downturn? I link its rise to recent reports about Iran's rapidly evolving nuclear program. With the hawks now controlling Israel, and Iran refusing to halt nuclear activity, I foresee an Israeli strike as imminent. Unfortunately it might not be as easy or clean as when they wiped out Saddam's nuclear facility. And if anyone believes Iran is setting up its nuclear program for peaceful purposes such as electricity generation, then they are deadly ignorant of what the Iranian leadership is all about.
