What especially irritates me is BO's whining about how he inherited a mess, as though he is now being unfairly FORCED to solve the nation's problems. He has already forgotten how badly he begged for the job, promised everything anyone wanted to get their votes. He does not understand that an effective leader has to instill confidence in his troops, even when he knows things are grim, for if he does not the gloom is sure to snowball into utter failure.

This is absolutely the way I feel, as well. Every time he uses the word "inherited" it really rubs me the wrong way -- and I suspect that at some point, most of the American people are going to grow weary of it.

In the first place, the problems are far worse today than they were when he was elected. And while I hate to admit it -- since I opposed it -- it is probably true that TARP I did some good. And the market sure as hell doesn't like what he's doing.

But the most important thing is the overwhelmingly negative attitude. Sometimes I think he is trying to do further damage to the economy..
