My understanding is that it can be done, and without a court order. I have seen this done many times. I believe OVIS said in the financials, that they did it as well to the former management. I'll check for sure on that one.

My understanding is that when a company cancells a certificate, they have 30 days to submit a written reason for the cancellation.

I don't think street name shares can be cancelled. But those in specific names can be done.

Sometimes, a broker's back office will call the signator of the certificate to see if it is legitimate, particularly if it is for a large amount of shares, or if there is an immediate transaction involved. If there is any reason to question whether or not the shares are control or restricted securities, the smae call can be made.

I have seen it done. I am informed it was done by MVPH in this instance as well. I'll know more Monday, as the confirmation call has not been returned. I always try to get two people to tell me the same thing. But the first person has no reason to lie to me. I'm sure we can wait til Monday for confirmation.
