> Yes, yes, the CPAC crowd is the extreme of the extreme
You do realize that the reason Huckabee was rejected by the Republican party in '08 is because he was considered a liberal, right?
And that explains how badly screwed up the GOP is.
Indeed, I suspect that if a prominent Democratic office holder, in 2005, delivered a speech referring to George W. Bush's agenda as "fascism," comparing his administration to totalitarian regimes, and casually throwing in a reference to Hitler, that Democrat would have a very difficult time being taken seriously by the political establishment moving forward. Presidential ambitions would be largely out of the question.
What, exactly, are you complaining about? I believe Huckabee's remarks were right on target. We are no longer capitalists. We have elected a socialist government. Huckabee is just pointing this [rather obvious] fact out.
You are so out there you all have redefined what socialism is. That works for your world but it doesn't for the rest of us.
This new America *DOES* have the makings of a fascist regime. While liberals have long associated fascism with the Right, most simply do not understand the core constituents of fascism. When one looks analytically at what makes fascism tick, the concepts of liberalism LEAP out at you.
Fascism is the least of your worries. I wish it weren't so.....I would love to ship all of you to the Falklands so you can play out your madness on some remote islands, doing little harm but to yourselves.
It may be stopped yet, but it is hard to see how. Obama is trying to get this done before the American People know what hit them (this is similar to what happened under FDR; ER has clearly stated that FDR knew he had only a few months worth of political capital in which he could shove the New Deal down American's throats; one must assume that Obama has the same awareness -- FDR's experience, was, of course, the origin of hte concept of a "first hundred days").
I have said this to you before but I know you have ignored it. Nonetheless, I am going to say it to you again. The Bush/Congressional GOPers woke up a sleeping giant. Americans are wide awake now......a little late but not too late......I hope. They now are watching everything that is happening in DC. You also woke up the left and they will never let you corner them again. If fact, we now are watching you. Every misstep you all make will be broadcast loudly and clearly to the rest of the country so they will know exactly what you're up to. You saw how that works.....in one fell swoop, jindal has pretty much been discredited....every error in that speech of his has been dissected and broadcast. Palin's in the same boat. I don't think you all will ever get the grip on this nation that you once had. You've burned too many bridges with you're craziness. Terry Schiavo is alive my ass!
Americans may wake up and understand that Obama is ramming a socialist agenda down their throats, and if a fascist dictatorship is in the cards, they may wake up to that, too. This is where the liberal media has dropped the ball -- it was their job to protect America from this kind of destruction, but the Framers never considered, apparently, that an entire industry (like news reporting or Hollywood) could be corrupted by liberalism, and that's what happened. Even the so-called liberal reporters (David Brooks, for example) are now extremist liberals.
It isn't over but it is getting close.
What's over is the GOP in its current configuration. You have a slim chance of reversing the situation.....becoming more mainstream....but frankly, I don't think you have it in you. You see......you're not very progressive and you went too far to the right. What you think is normal is very distasteful to the rest of the country. You still don't get it but you will......probably when its too late. |
