I was specifically calling the uptrend from the low in 2006 total sea ice a new trend. The parameter that caught my interest was the 4 higher lows.

I know this is cherry picking, but the October 2005 anomaly here wattsupwiththat.com frightens me. The lower magnetic activity corresponds to recent localized cooler weather, to a resumption of the growth of the ozone hole, and to Big Bear Solar Observatories' increasing earth albedo measurements.

Coupled with predictions of an upcoming flip in Terra's magnetic North, the next few years may be very exciting, and somewhat uncomfortable.
