Actually, I thought nothing of the sort, but if you feel the need to defend Democrats who ran the institutions such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, Citigroup etc. into the ground, so be it.

I asked for proof of your claim the top people running these organizations were motivated to support Democrats based on greed, and you've offered nothing of the sort. Most of the Democrats I know are not motivated solely by greed, but if you see them in that vein, I would like to see some proof.

The simple fact is to a large degree (nearly 100%), Democrat party members ran these companies. Democrat party politicians also defended any attempt to regulate Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and attacked those who attempted reform. I have given you the proof of that claim by posting video clips of the hearings, the backgrounds of where the leaders came from and the past connections they have with the Democrat party. The video clips also demonstrated their steadfast determination to fight any reform of these institutions, when it was critical they be reformed. Maxine Waters, Barney Frank and other liberal Democrats (yes I would call them liberal), refused to reform Fannie Mae and Fredie Mac, which to a large degree stimulated the financial collapse we're now witnessing.

Today, many liberal Democrats believe we need stronger federal oversight of these same institutions, and have largely turned them into government owned organizations. And we're now led to believe, many of the same people who refused reform a few years ago, would be the right people to oversea them today.

What evidence exists that making them government owned entities will cause less fraud, less abuse, less cost to taxpayers and prevent the kind of situation that has just occurred? What evidence exists that Democrats in power today, will be better stewards than the ones which proceeded them? Seems to me the evidence points to exactly the opposite conclusion. It's akin to putting the Fox in charge of the Hen House.

I realize quite a few liberal Democrats think all the financial problems these companies are going through were caused by George Bush, Dick Cheney and the horrible free market. However, I'll return to my original idea by suggesting we blame the people who actually ran these organizations, instead of those who conveniently meet our need for partisan political attacks.
