EaseMD LLC has acquired American Technology Group Inc., a deal that sprang from a two-year partnership between the two Brentwood technology firms.

ATG offers online data backup and recovery services and is a re-seller of LiveVault and eVault software and services. Through a joint marketing agreement, easeMD was offering those data backup and recovery services through ATG to its clients.

EaseMD, which is led by President and CEO Randy Farr, sells an array of software products and other tech services to medical practices. Terms of its acquisition weren't disclosed.

Bob Chaput, founder of ATG, last month took the chief information officer job at American Healthways Inc., the fast-growing disease management company also based in Brentwood. (NASDAQ: AMHC)
