Agreed!

Insiders do own a considerable amount of stock. {My personal favorite is Fogarty's 35,000 share purchase 5/97 at $5.62}

FYI Some Confernece Call notes: (no particular order and to be taken in the spirit in which they are offered - unsolicited and not from an investment house)

We have visualization systems with the new Saphtrak. Some docs had requested this feature in order to better ligate the vein branches. Ease of use also highlighted vis-a-vis the Ethicon and Origin systems.
Launch date November 1, 1997. Have to buy several reuseable tools to complement the disposable kit.

Japanese Lifeline has been trained in the use of the Saphtrak product and is now awaiting approval in Japan to begin selling the product.

Absence of a European partner for SEPS ands Saphtrak indications curious. No mention on the call about time frame for finding one. I doubt GSI goes direct, so maybe a press release in the not too distant future. {How about it Steve Bonelli?}

Two more distributors signed up for the SEPS procedure. Confidence level in this procedure sounded good throughout the call. Recent Journal of Vascular Surgery article bullish on GSI's SEPS product.

JNJ has been slow on the European uptake of the hernia product b/c:
1)JNJ waited for CE approval which was just garnered.
2)Lack of a complete hernia kit delaying uptake
3)JNJ is so big it takes a while to get traction
4)JNJ salesmen have a full sales bag right now and GSI has to find a way to get them to pull it out.
5)El Nino

(Any combination of the above may be true. Or they all might be true - not sure yet.)

U.S. hernia market: Take the last four above and choose whichever you want.

Incontinence market not even mentioned. Must be several qtrs. away.

Reiterated that the focus of the company is in the Cardio and Vascular fields. Hinted at future indications in these areas.

Will partner in outside areas (including orthopedics and others) and some announcements MAY come soon.

Trial date with Guidant set for Spring 98.

That is all I can type. Anybody have any thoughts/comments?

Regards,
