IMHO, people keep relating bottom with a bounce - especially a V bounce - no one seems to ever entertain the idea that a bottom could simply mean we no longer go down verociously, and then we can flop around that area for weeks or months, before we mount a gradual recovery.

It seems the mindset in general, still is biased to a sharp correction of a secular bull market that started from 1982 (and died in either 2000 or 2007, depends on the way one views it.)
