The problem now is one of power. Who has it? Can the party's elected leadership state with certainty that it speaks for "conservatives", who make up what it thinks is its key constituency? Or does a Michael Moore doppelganger on the right side of things?

As pointed out by people wiser than us, Rush is an entertainer who thinks he is much, much more. If Oprah or Michael Moore went to a progressive conference and gave the keynote speech and all the attendees went crazy.....people would think the democrats were nuts. Not a serious entity.

So, does Rush really want the republicans to succeed, or does he just want listeners? I am sure he will get those.
