Drug use will probably also rise dramatically as people seek to escape the reality of their lives.

Alcohol abuse too. Which means more drunk driving deaths.

There are already some reports that men who are laid off aren't doing very well-- our culture has always associated employment with self-worth when it comes to men. The depression and substance abuse rate among unemployed men is high and will continue, IMO.

Also, domestic violence will rise as a result of unemployment and its frustrations.
