Part of problem is I am holding Canadian miners and the Canadian dollar is getting hammered. It looks like the loonie is in the penalty box for an extended time on a major infraction. Down around 2 cents today against US dollar.

Me too.

Part of my delusion is a belief that ultimately there will be return to near parity between the currencies.

Since, in my opinion, the underpinnings of the Canadian economy are much more firmly rooted in commodities than the US economy, they should be able to stabilize their fiat money easier than the unfolding disaster in the US.

If true, the currency differential now represents an enhanced buying opportunity for the Canadian energy and metals producers.
