But Obama has been in office 5 weeks not 8 months and the economy collapsing (before he took office) is all his fault? Not Bush's fault?

I don't usually blame presidents for economic cycles.

I do think Obama's chronic bashing of the economy before election and his failure to instill confidence in the American Public is partially responsible for this mess. I believe Bush exacerbated it with the TARP program but by comparison with Obama's blunders that was minimal.

The big problem started when Congress forced lenders to advance money to uncreditworthy borrowers.
